Three Popes, Three Families,
Three Legacies

On Tuesday April 21st at 11.15 am at the Art Workers’ Guild in London, James will illustrate how the ambition of three popes, Pope Paul III (1534-49), Pope Urban VIII (1623-1644) and Clement XI (1700-1721) made a significant physical imprint on Rome through the art they commissioned, the collections they amassed, the ancient city they revealed and the buildings they erected, many of which still remind us of their legacies.
